Even though the Instituto para la Ciencia is a new school, from the first year of academic life, we have been noticed in the state statistics as one of the best in the Country; today we are among the best 100 schools in Colombia. However, our satisfaction in this field is superior if we consider that we don´t work for the ICFES, so that we don´t solve questionnaires and we don´t prepare for the ICFES either. That is the best demostration of the high level of our students, that is to say, our high score in the State exams are the result of the high level of our students and not of the memorization of answers thru questionnaires.

We are the only education high school in the Coffee Belt that have students and teachers producing scientific material. Published books: Birds of Manizales and Butterflies of Manizales. Books ready to be published: Birds of the Region, Insects of the Region and Plants of the Coffee Belt.

We are an institution with great achievements in our students. WE are the only school with real emphasis in science and tecnology (see our modality). We got an international prize in france. It was obtained by one of our students in "Birds Study". We had a student (girl) in the Quetzal Route, which leader is Spain, and a student has got a scholarship in medicine for Cuba

Many of our students pass the exam and register at the university.
